Well maintained vehicles pollute less, last longer and higher resale value. Follow these tips to become a more sophisticated car and ASE environmentally conscious homeowner.
* Keep the engine running at it's full capacity. Missed a sail can reduce fuel consumption by up to 30 percent, for example. Replace filters and fluids as recommended in the manual to keep your vehicle in good advice.
* Keep tires properly inflated and aligned to reduce the effort required by the engine - and fuel consumption.
* Find a good and qualified car mechanic. Ask your friends to recommend you someone or check the background of the repair shop that takes into account contact your local consumer group. Check the credentials and technicians, including ASE certified. ASE-certified auto technicians have passed one or more of the national specialty examinations, such as engine performance and air conditioning. * Your air conditioner serviced only by a certified technician to handle and recycle refrigerants. Older air conditioners contain ozone-depleting chemicals, which could be released into the atmosphere from insufficient maintenance.
* Avoid sudden accelerations and speeding, both approaches to guzzle gas.
* Do not let the car idle with the engine running. When waiting for friends or family, shut off the engine to save fuel.
* Combine things to eliminate unnecessary driving.
* Remove excess items in the car to reduce weight and improve gas mileage.
